C. S. Lewis Clive Staples Lewis (29 November – 22 November ) was a British author, literary scholar and Anglican lay theologian. He held academic positions in English literature at both Magdalen College, Oxford (–), and Magdalene College, Cambridge (–). C.S. Lewis, Irish-born scholar, novelist, and author of about 40 books, many of them on Christian apologetics, including The Screwtape Letters and Mere Christianity. However, he is perhaps best known for the seven children’s books that constitute The Chronicles of Narnia.
